Rock Kitchen Harris helps save Vulcan project

22nd September 2006

At the end of July, the project to get the last remaining Vulcan bomber capable of flight back in the air seemed to be doomed. £1.2 million needed to be raised in just over four weeks or work would not continue and XH558 would be permanently grounded. In this dark hour the Rock Kitchen Harris PR unit was added to the team to raise media awareness and try to secure the necessary pledges
and donations.

With just a month before funding ran out, we helped create an intense PR campaign and managed all media at the roll-out event - which could have been the last time the Vulcan saw daylight. The result was widespread and comprehensive coverage in national newspapers such as the Sunday Times, Daily Express and Daily Telegraph, and prime-time showing on BBC TV News, Sky News, ITV and a host of regional radio stations. As you probably saw, this attention led to funding which saved the project and Vulcan XH558 will now fly again.
