Honwood Homes Modern homes. Traditional values.
Formed in 2014, Honwood Homes is the sister company to Jeakins Weir, a locally based construction company with over 40 years experience of building contracting in the East Midlands. Spinney Hill is their most recent development and is located on the southern edge of Oakham in Leicestershire. The exclusive collection of 102 high quality 2, 3, 4 & 5 bedroom homes are all bespoke designs with high-quality fittings, Level 4 Sustainable Home Credentials including air source heating, low carbon emissions and responsibly sourced materials.
Honwood Homes appointed us to create a new brand identity which reflected who they are and what they stand for. We were also tasked to produce an entire design system for their new-high end development, Spinney Hill, including website design and build, brochure, signage and direct mail.
We began by creating an identity that embraced both modern and traditional values, an identity that promoted solidity and confidence in the homes they build. By creating a tartan style logo with entwined H’s in two tones of an earthy green, we also represented the company’s Scottish heritage. A simple, elegant tagline ‘Modern Homes. Traditional Values’ was written to accompany the Honwood Homes wordmark and create a coherent identity that would remain timeless as the company evolved.
We selected a heritage colour palette that would feel harmonious when used together within collateral, and two complimentary typefaces – a san serif to reflect modern and a serif for traditional. A light moss green background has been used across all printed and digital marketing to create a cohesive and recognisable style, whilst newly commissioned area photography, CGIs, maps and floor plans ensure all literature is exceptionally user friendly.
A range of individual home, local area and site plan leaflets were designed together with a simple outer slip case, whilst a responsive website features every home available, and conveys the area’s historic and peaceful location.
An exceptionally successful first phase release with homes selling before build completion. Our strong and trustworthy identity also helped alleviate local concerns over construction in a heritage conscious, market town for this inaugural development.
