Snap On-demand coach travel launch event

Background

Snap is an on-demand coach provider, and has been compared to taxi service Uber. The company, which had already launched in Nottingham, Bristol and Cardiff, wanted to launch their service in Leicester with our help.

Snap offers trips from Leicester to London starting at just £5, with various pick-up and drop-off points. They got in touch with us to create a launch event, to help spread the word to the people of Leicester about their service.

Approach

Snap needed us to turn the launch event around really quickly. We had just two weeks to organise the event, and generate interest and attendance from local influencers and press. We quickly got to work drawing up a launch and PR programme of activity to lead up to the event, helping to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day.

Snap wanted the launch to be in a high footfall space within Leicester city centre, and we suggested the Highcross Shopping Centre would fit this brief perfectly due to the significant traffic from shoppers. We helped to get this booked and organised, and swiftly invited our list of influencers and press contacts to help generate local coverage for the event.

After securing a prime location within the Highcross and attendance from press, we decided we needed a fun and creative way to get the people of Leicester involved with the event. The launch event itself had a luxury coach parked outside the Highcross Shopping Centre. To help give the event a more exciting and visible presence we decided to theme the launch and created a picnic area serving homemade cake, sweets and fresh lemonade to draw people in. This also provided influencers and press a great photo opportunity space, plus somewhere to sit down and learn all about Snap through an exclusive interview with CEO Thomas Ableman.

Alongside the coach and picnic area, teams were also handing out promotional flyers with an introductory free return trip to London, so that people could try out the service for themselves.

After the event, we worked alongside the chosen influencers to produce blogs and social coverage featuring Snap in a natural way as part of a day trip to London, helping to further spread the word.

Results

In the lead up the launch event and the weeks following it we secured coverage across local media, helping spread the word about the free return trip offer, the event, and Snap’s services. The launch event itself proved to be a big hit with both press and the public, and received great feedback from everyone involved.

Over the course of the month we worked with Snap, the campaign secured coverage across all key local media and received several bookings for return trips to London. The event was covered by Leicester Mercury, DLuxe Magazine, and Niche Magazine, as well as all of our influencers across their blogs and social media channels.
