Taylor Wimpey Pets Make a Home promotion

Taylor Wimpey wanted to find a way to increase their presence on Twitter and Facebook and drive visitors to their website in a way that wasn’t overtly sales.

Approach

Britain loves its pets. We are a nation of animal lovers. We took this simple idea and wedded it with home buying through the statement ‘Pets make a home’. We then worked with Taylor Wimpey’s PR agencies to create a nationwide competition to find the UK’s most at home pet. We ran it throughout the national Pet Month for maximum exposure. Through a Facebook App the general public were asked to submit pictures of their furry friends making themselves at home and then to vote on the most at home pet. We offered small daily prizes and a £1,000 first prize.

Results

The success of the campaign was staggering. For such a simple idea and a low cost we generated some incredible results:

  • Over 300,000 clicks on the competition
  • Over 9000 entries
  • Nearly 160,000 votes
  • 100% increase in Facebook likes
  • and most importantly over 7,000 visits to the Taylor Wimpey website as a result of the campaign.
