Lest We Forget Exhibition
With prolific worldwide growth and an ever-evolving library of unabridged titles narrated by the likes of screen legends David Tennant, Caroline Quentin, Jim Broadbent and Dame Judi Dench, 2014 is set to be an exciting year for Leicestershire publisher W.F. Howes.
Founded in July 1999 as a subsidiary of Recorded Books Inc, W.F. Howes produces specialist audio and large print books across fiction and non-fiction, covering a wide variety of traditional and contemporary genres to libraries and schools across the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and Australia.
Over 100 new book editions are currently published each month by W.F. Howes in the UK alone and the company is rapidly expanding globally. We were asked to look at the design of the quarterly catalogues for both the UK and Australia.
The newly designed collection of 40-pager catalogues had to remain functional, with each categorised by genre in an easily readable and accessible format, whilst introducing a much more stylish look and feel.
We redesigned the page layout to be cleaner and consistent across all of their imprints, while using cover art from the audiobooks to create stylish dividers and covers.
Over 3000 copies of the Spring edition were successfully delivered to nearly 400 libraries across the two continents. The feedback about style and usability has been extremely positive from both staff and customer.
Now that W.F. Howes is expanding its offering of online resources and educational products, we will be responsible for the design and production of quarterly ‘CD & Playaway’ and ‘Digital Download’ catalogues for the UK and Australian markets.
