Last week we sent Ian, Katie, Annabelle, Will and Ali down to London to represent team RKH for the CRASH Wildgoose Chase. CRASH is the construction industry’s charity, and it provides practical support to help homelessness and hospice charities with construction related projects. Taylor Wimpey were the headline sponsor for the 3rd year running, and as their national PR and marketing agency, they asked if we’d like to come along to support the charity by taking part.
25 teams competed in the challenge, each armed with an iPad to find special hotspots around London. Once arriving at a hotspot a silly task would be unlocked to complete, along with a number of general knowledge questions. Some of the teams opted to take a more relaxed approach, with a pit stop or three at the pub, but us RKHers are far too competitive for that. From silly walks to rock star music videos, there was nothing we wouldn’t do to earn points. We documented each task with the iPad and sent them onto HQ for the judges to deliberate over. With extra points being awarded for silliness and creativity, no Londoner was safe. We roped in anyone we could to try to secure our team a few extra points!
After 3 hours of running around London we all gathered at Tiger Tiger for the closing ceremony and buffet, eager to find out who had claimed victory. We came in at a very respectable 4th place and had such a fun afternoon taking part too. All of the money raised on the day went to CRASH, and in total the event raised over £25,000. Well done to all of the teams who took part and helped to raise such a huge amount of money for CRASH!
