We’re members of the The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), and as part of that membership, we all have to complete 24 hours of continuous professional development (CPD) per year.

For our Account Managers, the understanding of advertising law and Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) regulations is absolutely essential for us to protect our clients and ourselves, and deliver the best possible service. We’re fully committed to each of our Account Managers being LegRegs qualified - LegRegs is a qualification from the IPA itself, designed for agency staff who work directly with clients. The qualification equips our Account Managers with an even stronger knowledge of the legal and regulatory basics of advertising, ensuring a thorough understanding of:

  • Our responsibilities relating to copyright, trademarks and brands
  • How to defend ourselves against defamation and passing off
  • Compliance with Consumer Protection Regulations and The Gambling Act

We’re also working towards ensuring all our Account Managers are accredited Members of the IPA (MIPA). Gaining MIPA accreditation is a three-year process, but it’s an extremely valuable accreditation to have in the world of advertising, helping our account managers gain further recognition as advertising professionals.

This LegRegs training is part of our agency-wide commitment to training at Rock Kitchen Harris. The training programme offered by the IPA is incredible, with countless resources for everyone from our Account Managers to our PR team and our copywriters. From LegRegs to Ad Net Zero training, IPA resources help us develop ourselves and our services and give us a better understanding of how our agency fits into the wider community.
