Back at the start of the year we selected The Y (a Leicester-based charity supporting young homeless people) as our charity of the year. The world has changed a huge amount this year and whilst we’ve already been helping to increase awareness of the amazing work carried out by The Y, the team wanted to do more in support.

The Y works with vulnerable young people across Leicester city, providing safe accommodation, training and support to help them move towards independent living and employment. The current pandemic has hit The Y hard, closing its Victorian theatre and so impacting its main source of funding, all at a time when homeless and vulnerable people need its help more than ever.

So, as a team we’ve decided to hold the first ever RKH Big Sleep Out on Friday 11th September!

We’ll be swapping our beds for a night outside under the stars, with the aim of raising awareness and as much money as possible for The Y. We’ll be encouraging our households to join in, and asking all of our friends and family to support the evening.

Although we won’t be physically together in person, we’ll be keeping in touch via video calls and we’ll also be joined by representatives from The Y. We’ll also be sharing videos and photos before and after the event across our social media channels, so keep an eye on them if you’d like to see what we get up to.

Each of us will be donating to take part, and we’ll be reaching out to friends and family to support us too. If you’d like to donate, you can do so via our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rkhbigsleepout
